Alpha Psi Lambda is the nation's first and largest co-ed Latino fraternity. In the fall of 2016, 10 noble students banded together to found the Thee Resilient Alpha Theta chapter at UNCW. Alpha Theta is the first chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda in the state of North Carolina. Our chapter is committed to promoting diversity and cultural awareness to ultimately help embrace unique contributions at our university and in our community.
We need your help to raise funds to travel to Conclave, our fraternity's national conference, in Boca Raton, FL. At this conference, we will be given the opportunity to network and meet our brothers and sisters from across the country. Private gifts would help us greatly in our goal of sending the members that want to go, but cannot afford it. We would really like to send our chapter to this event because as the first chapter in North Carolina, this will be the first year we are able to represent UNCW and North Carolina at this conference.
Having the opportunity to attend our fraternity's national conference will help us be more equipped in our mission of serving the university campus and community through education, leadership, cultural awareness, and community service.
WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
As a new organization on campus, our fundraisers are solely focused on covering our operational budget and philanthropic support. This project gives us the opportunity to do more than what we are currently able to do on this campus and in this state. Not to mention, it will help develop our leadership skills, so we are able to fulfill our goal of advocating for the needs of Hispanic/Latino students while promoting diversity. Funds for this conference are not covered by the university. Travel, admission ticket, and lodging expenses per person can exceed more than $400, so we need your help! Raising this money would greatly help offset expenses for members! Please help us reach our goal by giving to our project today, no amount is too small! The more support we receive, the more members we can send!
Thanks for your support!
