Our pristine coastline and the rich, diverse habitats around it make UNCW a unique college campus as a corridor to extensive natural beauty. At UNCW Plastic Ocean Project (POP), our goals are to protect, preserve, and restore our coastal environment so that our generation and generations before and after us can enjoy and appreciate this beautiful North Carolina coast. Through cleanups and collaborative efforts, UNCW POP has helped lead the charge to keep our coastline clean. Now, we need your help!
Our organization has continued to grow over the years. As we have worked over several years on our coast, we have utilized our cleanup supplies with our parent chapter, Plastic Ocean Project, Inc. With constant usage over time, our cleanup supplies are beginning to reach the end of the line from years of wear and tear, and we need all the help we can get to order new cleanup supplies!
From trash grabbers and gloves to durable, reusable cleanup bags and sanitizer, we need your help to purchase supplies to keep our local area clean! By acquiring new reliable and versatile cleanup supplies, we can continue our important work in our local area and bring more people into our efforts. Having these cleanup supplies makes our cleanups safer, more efficient, and more fun for everyone involved! By engaging with more people and providing enough supplies for everyone involved, we can broaden our impact right here at home to help make Wilmington and our neighboring coastline some of the cleanest, well-kept environments in the country!
Every donation matters! Each donation will help us buy new reusable bags and gloves, sanitizer, grabbers for those hard to reach items, scales to keep better track of the weight of trash we collect, and new tents and signage to help make a mobile volunteer home base so volunteers have a clear location to find us.
Your gift to our organization also counts toward Like No Other: The Campaign for UNCW.
We hope you donate and spread the word! We need all the help we can get to protect our coastline and save our seas.
