Help the UNCW Gardening Club grow fresh produce for the Hawk's Harvest Food Pantry

Thank you, Donors! We're halfway there!

We have raised over $750 and are over halfway toward our overall goal of raising $1,250 to provide fresh produce for the Hawk's Harvest Food Pantry. We have one week left to reach our goal, and with your help, we know we can get there. Please consider sharing our project page to help us reach our goal!

Hawk's Harvest Food Pantry

The Hawk's Harvest Food Pantry, located under the water tower, is a staple in the UNCW community. A recent study showed that 14 percent of UNCW students experience food insecurity and benefit from a food pantry. The goal of Hawk's Harvest is to make food available for all UNCW students, free of charge.

Our Goal

We want to help fellow Seahawks by growing fresh produce that can be added to the selection at Hawk's Harvest. With over 25 members in our club, we have plenty of hand power to plant seeds and produce a fruitful harvest. Currently, we have eight raised beds at Friday Hall near the new greenhouse where we grow the majority of our veggies, and two smaller beds at the campus ministries. All funds raised will be used to help us purchase supplies that will not only help with the fall harvest, but will also allow us expand our gardening beds to produce more fresh produce for Hawk's Harvest and continue growing in the spring.

Every gift makes a difference and brings us one step closer to reaching out $1,250 goal! Students, bees, and gardening club members alike will appreciate your gift for years to come. Thank you for your support!

$10

The Bread & Butter

$10 will cover the cost of a large variety of seed packets that could yield over 20 pieces of fresh produce to UNCW's campus ministry. With your gift, we would be able to grow cabbage, collard greens, radish, leek, beets and mixed lettuce.

$20

Drip Irrigation

$20 will cover the cost of 27' of irrigation for the new raised beds at our expansion grounds.

$45

Growing Media

A $45 donation covers the cost of half of the soil needed for one of our raised beds. Our growing media is crafted from composts and soils by our gardening experts, and helps our seeds to thrive.

$100

Donate $100 to cover the cost of removing four stumps from the Gardening Club's expansion grounds, helping us create new raised beds to grow more fresh produce.

$150

Sponsor a Raised Bed
