Our Crowdfunding Groups
UNCW SCUBA Club is an organization set to create a social network to connect student divers and potential student divers with the surrounding dive community, and environment. One of the main goals of SCUBA Club is to get new divers excited about the underwater world and certify them in safe diving practices and sustainable ecosystem friendly conservation diving.
We want to share our passion for diving and learning about life under the sea with new members to continue a legacy of safe, conservative, passionate and inspired divers!
To help students realize their love for diving we have put together a Discover SCUBA Diving day, where students will learn simple SCUBA rules and equipment to "dip their toes in the water" so to say. Discover SCUBA Diving or DSD is the first step many new divers take towards a certification in diving or even a career in diving. DSD classes help students get accustomed to breathing off a regulator and wearing gear in a controlled setting (a pool), with instructors.
It is very important to us that students have the opportunity to experience diving, in a safe place where they are given the education and tools they need to succeed as divers in this industry. We believe that your first time blowing bubbles underwater is the spark that ignites their passion for the deep blue, and carries divers to professional certifications, instructors, and beyond!
Here's Where We Need Your Help!
In order to provide this DSD day to students we are asking that donors like you contribute a small donation to help pay for gear, classes, instructors, and pool time. This will make the DSD day financially accessible for many students who want to take the first steps into SCUBA but cannot afford it. All donations are tax-decutible. Any donation you can give is more than appreciated!
Whether you are a long term-diver, a UNCW alumni, a friend, or a beginning diver yourself you can make the first steps of diving possible for the next generation of divers!
